Proceeds: Your Support Makes a Difference!
Thanks to your generosity, proceeds from the 2007 Birthday Ball will support two major initiatives – the purchase of Likorall patient lift systems and healthcare education scholarships.
Patient lifts provide safety and comfort
Each day our caregivers strive to provide the best possible care to our hospital patients and residents. Moving and lifting patients can be difficult for the caregiver and stressful for the patient. Using Likorall lift systems, our patients and caregivers will experience safety and comfort during transfers.
Likorall has been used throughout the world and is one of the premier patient lift systems. Its technology allows for smooth maneuvering on overhead rails, and the sophisticated motor has a lifting capacity of 550 lbs. It is easy to use – and operated with a remote-control unit.
Likorall lifts are available in different rail and freestanding models. The Winona Health Auxiliary is proud to support the purchase of lift equipment that will enhance patient care and reduce occupational injuries.
Winona Health Auxiliary contributes to the future of healthcare
A portion of the funds raised from the annual Birthay Ball event support local students preparing to enter a career in healthcare with college tuition expenses.
The 2007-2008 Winona Health Auxiliary Carol Hill Scholarship committee has awarded $20,000 in scholarships to 21 students, all of which have been accepted into a credited healthcare program.
Since the Auxiliary awarded its first nursing scholarship in 1962, more than $401,000 has been awarded. Anyone wishing more information about the scholarship program can contact Autumn Herber at Winona Health’s Volunteer Services office at 507-457-4394.
